Introduction

Footprint hammers are designed to satisfy the needs of both professional and DIY users. The design and manufacture of these tools ensures a quality hammer that is capable of satisfying joinery, engineering and masonry applications.

An extensive range of types, styles and sizes designed to satisfy the requirements of any user, but particularly the professional tradesman and the discerning DIYer who wants value for money from a product, made in Sheffield, which will last and last.

Two types of handles are offered, wood, in the form of traditional hickory or ash and high performance unbreakable glass fibre. All handles are ergonomically designed to optimize performance. With all the hickory handled hammers, the handle is secured to the head either with a wedge and cleats or an all steel cross wedge.

All hammer heads are manufactured using carefully controlled forging and hardening processes to ensure a consistently high quality product. The working faces of the hammer heads are glazed and polished.

The British Standard 876 is regarded as the minimum standard for quality assurance purposes. Footprint hammers are manufactured to BS 876 ensuring that if used correctly they pose no danger to the user.

The hickory handles, primarily for the engineers, club and sledge are made from specially selected premium grade hickory from the Mississippi Delta - the only place in the world that this type of wood is found.

The fibre glass shafts are produced using a high quality glass which is made specifically for tool handles. It is prepared and bonded to the heads at our factory so all elements of this critical process are assembled in house to ensure a quality product which is reliable and will not fail in the rigorous applications to which they are generally submitted.
