Tinsnips are intended for cutting sheet metal with a scissor like action and using hand leverage only. Footprint tinsnips are designed to maximize cutting power whilst ensuring a comfortable grip and control. The range of tinsnips produced by Footprint has a variety of applications which include cutting of light and heavier gauge sheet metal, straight and circular cutting, right hand and left hand operation together with jewellery and silversmith work.
Produced from high quality carbon steel, Footprint tinsnips are one piece drop forgings, which are induction hardened, and tempered. The blades are precision machine ground and the assembly is finished with an attractive stove enamel. Each pair of snips is individually checked by a skilled fitter to ensure they are "on cut".
A selection of Footprint tinsnips are manufactured with a spring which automatically opens the snips and enables repetitive cutting. These tinsnips are fitted with a safety clip to keep the snips closed when not in use. Others incorporate curved blades for circular cutting.
The ONLY British Made Tinsnip.
